Deep Touch Pressure helps the body release serotonin. Serotonin is an important chemical when it comes to feeling calm and assisting with mood stability. Not only does the release of serotonin help a person feel calmer, but serotonin is needed to create melatonin in the body. And, Melatonin is a chemical that your body uses to tell itself that it's time for sleep. DTP also provides input to the receptors of the proprioceptive sensory system, which can help with self-regulation and a sense of calm.
The Woosah Weighted Blanket is a therapeutic tool. We always recommend consulting with your therapist prior to purchase. Most therapists use a "10% of body weight" as a guide for weighted products. The Woosah weighted blanket is for adult use.
The covers are easily to change over.
Different covers are available (sold separately). The plush minky fabric comes in pink, blue, butterscotch and grey.
There is also a breathable silky bamboo cover option.
