The Numerule is a 30cm ruler that doubles as a mathematics and numeracy teaching aid. Have it on your desk to help learn, teach and master numeracy skills such as counting, addition and subtraction. A super easy tactile and kinesthetic resource.
A teaching aid that is multi-sensory and multi-purpose. Use the ruler to measure or draw lines or use it to count, add or subtract. To count, simply press down on each number in its centimetre place.
To add, for example 7 + 4, press down all centimetres to 7 then press another 4 to get the total. To subtract, for example 20 - 3, start at 20 and press down 3 centimetre places to get the answer.
We love that the Numerule is so tactile and kinesthetic. The pressing down requires some pressure, and also activates the proprioceptive system which can help with learning and memory. The pressing also causes a clicking sound - a visual, auditory, tactile and proprioceptive sensory experience.
The physically interactive nature of the Numerule makes it ideal for assisting many on the autism spectrum. Those with numerical learning difficulties gain a greater understanding of foundational mathematics.
The Numerule Ruler is cleverly designed, with 0-10 in blue, 11-20, in red and 21-30 in red. The all in one ruler, with no loose parts is ideal in any classroom or home.
