The Smart Kids Social Skills Early Years is a set of 6 beautiful board games that provide a comprehensive approach to promoting the social and emotional skills that underpin effective learning and positive behaviour. This learning resource are well suited to schools, families and therapeutic environments.
The aim of the set is to develop understanding of appropriate behaviour including morals, manners, empathy, friendship, showing emotions and managing emotions.
There are 6 different games which each provide the opportunity to focus on particular area or set of skills. It also means the games can be varied to maintain interest. They take a question format, where there is no right or wrong. Instead players work collaboratively to solve each social challenge.
Board games include: The Guessing Game: Teaches patience, Hot or Cold: Promotes teamwork, Are you OK?: Teaches empathy, Manners Manner: Teaches correct use of manners, True School: Teaches and promotes honesty and On the Bright Side: Promotes optimism.
