The Coloured Reading Guide is a practical support and teaching resource for readers who are easily distracted, frequently lose their place, experience eye-tracking difficulties, find reading visually tiring, or struggle to see print clearly (when this is not related to visual acuity such as long- or short-sightedness).
Prof John Stein , Professor of Neuroscience, has devoted much of his research to studying the magnocellular pathways in the brain and dyslexia. His team’s research has shown statistically significant improvements in reading performance for some visual dyslexics when using coloured lenses (particularly yellow or blue).
The magnocellular system is thought to be especially sensitive to long-wavelength light.
Yellow may boost magnocellular activity, supporting motion sensitivity, convergence and accommodation (eye coordination).
Blue may help support arousal, reduce visual stress, and assist with attention regulation, particularly for those who experience fatigue, light sensitivity or fluctuating focus over time.
The use of coloured overlays or lenses remains controversial. However, coloured reading guides can be a helpful and affordable tool to trial as part of a broader reading support approach.

Great for my 5 year old who needs to work on his fine motor skills and being creative. The tap tap set is also loved by my eldest, 13 years old who loves a therapeutic activity before bed. He loves to tap tap away.
Since putting this on my son’s bed it has made a huge difference. We have also found if he is getting overwhelmed he is now retreating to his bed. He says “it feels like a big hug”. We opted for the double as we have a very thick (60cm) king single mattress.
This swing is the absolute bees knees of sensory seeking/ risky play/ calm down activity. It is used multiple times a day by both my kiddos, and is incredibly durable. I cannot recommend it enough!!
This is absolutely perfect for my five year old. It is considerably easier and faster to brush his teeth, and it enables him to brush his own teeth more often, and with better results. This fosters his independence, while aiding his fine motor deficit. I would highly recommend it.
