Using base ten blocks (ones, tens, hundreds and thousands or shorts, longs, flats and cubes) is a staple part of our mathematics curriculum.Ā This is because they help children understand how our number system works.
If you're looking for multiple ways to use your base ten blocks, for individual or whole class work, then the 50 Base Ten Activities cards are a great place to start.
Activities to suit a whole range of agesĀ that are progressive in skill level and assist in the effective use of maths manipulatives.
The front side provides teaching objectives, resources used and procedure, the other side provides visual examples. Math manipulatives are used effectively throughout and presented in clear photography.
